Description
This competition invites creatives from around the world to design the official mascot of the World Food Congress. The goal is to create a memorable and engaging character that represents food science, innovation, sustainability, and the cultural identity of Hong Kong.

Objective
To develop a mascot that captures the spirit of the Congress and communicates food science in a way that is approachable, meaningful, and globally relevant.

Who Can Participate
Open to participants worldwide, including:

  • Students
  • Professionals
  • Designers
  • Creatives

Submissions can be made individually or as a team.
Participants from Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region are especially encouraged to join.

Submission Requirements
Participants must submit:

  • An original mascot design (illustration or digital artwork)
  • A name for the mascot
  • A concept description (150–300 words) explaining:
    • Inspiration
    • Connection to food science and innovation
    • Link to Hong Kong culture (such as harbor, skyline, dragon symbolism, or cuisine)

Design Guidelines

  • The mascot should: Be visually appealing, friendly, and easy to recognize
  • Reflect key themes: Food science and technology, Sustainability and future food systems, Global collaboration
  • The design should also be adaptable for: Social media, Merchandise, Event branding

Awards

  • Winning Design
    • Selected as the official mascot of the World Food Congress
    • Featured across all event platforms
    • Invitation to attend the Congress in Hong Kong (travel support to be specified)
  • Runner-ups
    • Certificates of recognition
    • Featured on official channels

Judging Criteria
Entries will be evaluated based on:

  • Creativity and originality
  • Relevance to food science and Congress themes
  • Representation of Hong Kong culture
